Dr Mohd Nawab Mohd Osman is an Assistant Professor, Coordinator of Malaysia Programme (IDSS) at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include the history and politics of Southeast and South Asian countries, transnational Islamic political movements such as the Hizb ut-Tahrir and Islamic political thought. He has written various papers, books and journal articles relating to his research interests. He is also the co-editor of ‘Igniting Thought, Unleashing Youth: Analysis and Reflections on Muslim Youth and Activism in Singapore’, a publication in association with Young AMP. Several of his articles have been featured in leading dailies in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including news agencies such as Channel NewsAsia, Bloomberg, BBC and Al-Jazeera. He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science and History, as well as a Master of Arts in History from the National University of Singapore. He also holds a PhD in political science and international relations from the Australian National University.
